Europe and Youth participation EVS in Amiens, France

We are looking for european volunteers between the 1st of january 2018 and the 31th december 2018.

Description
EUROPE DIRECT Picardie is an official EU information centre in Northern France. Our main goals are to bring the EU closer to its citizens and to encourage the youth of the region to take part in a mobility programme.

The main tasks of the volunteers will be:

– to prepare and give presentations about their country, the EVS and the EU to different groups (pupils, students, adults, young people with fewer opportunities, etc.), to speak about their own experiences, cultures, customs and diversity.
– to welcome the general public at the office and during fairs and forums
– to promote the EVS to the youth of the region
– to create educational tools (e.g.games and posters) and new concepts for presentations
– to help the team in the organisation of events (debates, Europe Day, European day of languages…)
– to raise awareness, especially among young people, towards the upcoming European elections
Accomodation, transport, food money and pocket money
The volunteers will stay in a shared house, where they will have their own room.
Local transport between the house and the office will be paid for.
The volunteers will get 7€/day for food and 115€/month for pocket money.
Seminars and french lessons
During their stay, the volunteers will take part in 2 seminars organised by the French National Agency. One on arrival and the other mid-stay.
The volunteers will get free French language classes at the University of Picardie Jules Verne.
Profile
We are looking for highly-motivated volunteers ready to commit for a 12-month period.
The volunteers should come from another EU country.
As the project will be in French, the volunteers should have knowledge in French OR a strong desire to learn the language.
